An episode of The Simpsons that refers to the 1989 Tiananmen Suare massacre is reported to be missing from Disney's streaming service in Hong Kong.

디즈니 스트리밍 홍콩 서비스에서 1989 천안문 대학살 사건을 언급하는 장면이 삭제된 것으로 보인다.

 

Audiences noticed that episode 12 of Seasons 16 is missing from Disney+, which launced in the city this month.

시청자들은 이번달 홍콩에 런칭한 디즈니 플러스 스트리밍 서비스에서 '심슨' 시즌16 에피소드12가 사라진 것을 발견했다.

 

In the episode, the cartoom family visits Tiananmen Suare in Beijing where a sign reads: "On this site, in 1989, nothing happend"-- a nod to censorship of the deadly crackdown on protesters there that year.

해당 에피소드에서 심슨 가족은 베이징에 있는 천안문 광장을 방문한다. 그곳에는 "1989년 이곳에서는 아무 일도 일어나지 않았음"이라고 적힌 안내문구가 있는데, 이는 해당 연도에 그곳에서 시위자들을 대상으로 자행된 무자비한 탄압이 있었음을 시사하는 것이다.

 

The demonstrators were calling for greater political freedom, and soldiers killed many unarmed civillians.

Disney has not commented on the missing episode.
